Eötvös Problems
One of the oldest physics competitions anywhere, first held in the autumn of 1916. It was started because the Eötvös Competition of 1894 had become purely mathematical. That first year was won by György Jendrassik, with Leó Szilárd second and Eugene Wigner commended.
